WWE is relying on Ronda Rousey to save them from another ratings mess [WON]

If fans needed any proof just how highly valued Ronda Rousey truly is, the fact she was rapidly put into the RAW Women's Championship picture speaks volumes.

Evidently, it wasn't an entire hand out as the former UFC bantamweight championship has shown that she's far better than many ever anticipated.

STAR POWER

She not only took women's mixed martial arts to a new level, but the level of mainstream eyes she's brought on to the WWE's product has shown why she's so highly valued.

The Baddest Woman on the Planet has continued to defy expectations and this week, she's been in the headlines again.

Critics have been praising her work on RAW this week after her brilliant promo on Nikki Bella, with sources claiming that her fiery promo was written by Rousey herself.

With so much praise coming Rousey's way, it should come as no surprise that is planning on using her star power in another way, and it's not something that fans might like.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is hoping that they can convince Rousey to appear on Total Divas to save the ratings after a disastrous eighth season.

It's clear why the potential request will be made. Rousey brings eyes to the product and Total Divas needs an injection of something interesting as season eight's average viewership has plummeted to 386,000 - almost half of season's six's figures so adding Rousey to that mix is an easy fix.

TOTAL DIVAS

However, whether Rousey actually agrees to it or not is a different story as it's common knowledge that her personas live is kept private.

Not only that, but even the likes of Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks have turned down roles on Total Divas in the past.

It's obvious that there's a danger the character can take a hit. It's also something The Queen highlighted herself when refusing to join the cast.

Explaining her decision to stay out of Total Divas, she said: "For me, my character has always come first and foremost and how far I want to take the women's division," Flair explained.

"I've worked so hard on this character and I'm not sure lifting the curtain is the right move right now.

"Especially when I first started and was a bad guy, people believed I really fired my dad! I just don't know how that would have helped with my storyline," she continued. "I almost think there's a mystique to not knowing everything about me."

At this stage, it looks like it could be wishful thinking on WWE's part.
