Kurt Angle has revealed the worst match that he's ever had in WWE

Kurt Angle has been tearing the house down in professional wrestling since 1999, ever since he stepped into a WWE ring.

The 1996 Olympic Gold medalist took to the sports entertainment industry instantly, and was a WWE Champion by the end of his first year in the company.

And despite leaving the company in 2006, Angle took his talents to TNA, having even more World Championship reigns, before returning 'home' to the WWE in 2017.

Inducted into the Hall of Fame the night before WrestleMania 33, Angle was subsequently named as the General Manager of the Raw brand, and saw himself return to the ring later in the year, firstly to team with Shield members Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.

Then Angle was part of Team Raw in their Survivor Series match with Team SmackDown, where Triple H turned on him, leading to his most recent match, a mixed tag team bout with Ronda Rousey over 'The Game' and Stephanie McMahon.

But with no General Manager duties at the moment, whilst taking a 'vacation' from Raw, Angle decided to use some of his free time to answer fans' questions on Facebook.

And Angle responded to a query about the worst match he's ever had - it came way back in 2004.

"The one that I remember was the Lumberjack Match with Eddie Guerrero [on an episode of SmackDown]," said Angle.

"Eddie wasn't feeling well that night. The match dragged on and on. Eddie kept telling me something was wrong. He kept telling me to put him in a hold so he could get his mind and body straight.

"It was not the Eddie that we all knew, 'the greatest of all-time.' He was physically and emotionally exhausted that night. It was a failure on my part because I kept pushing him to go harder, I should have listened to him.

"Eddie was more to me than a fellow wrestler, he was my brother. It was a bad night for him. And a bad night for me."

It does seem surprising that it would be the late Guerrero who was involved in Angle's worst match, but if he wasn't well, it makes more sense watching the match.

The pair always had great chemistry together, as shown by their great match at WrestleMania 20, where 'Latino Heat' defeated Angle in a WWE Championship match.

And if that bout was Angle's worst, it proves that there was hardly ever a bad match-up when it came to the 'Wrestling Machine'.
