WWE officials are gearing up for their upcoming Survivor Series event.

The Survivor Series pay-per-view event takes place on Sunday, November 18, 2018 in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center

The show will air on the WWE Network and some traditional pay-per-view outlets. Both Raw and SmackDown brands will be featured.

The sports entertainment company also will hold NXT TakeOver: Los Angeles event takes place on Saturday, November 17, 2018 in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center and will air on the WWE Network.

For those who are wondering, Survivor Series is the second longest running pay-per-view event in WWE history just behind WrestleMania as it’s considered one of the big four events of the year for the WWE as WWE Chairman Vince McMahon sees WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam in that group.

The WWE introduced this event back in 1987 with the first event originally being made for Thanksgiving Day as in the first eight years, it took place on that date or the night before.

Since 1995, the event has been held the Sunday before Thanksgiving as the business is not as hot as it once was on that day.

WWE hasn’t always loved the show as in 2010, WWE stated that Survivor Series would be rebranded. Just like most things, McMahon changed his mind and kept the show.

This event doesn’t just have big matches that have championships on the line but is also the main feature of tag-team elimination matches, which puts two teams of four or five wrestlers against each other with them being called "Survivor Series matches."

The sports entertainment company is always trying to create new matches including the Elimination Chamber match that was introduced in 2002 at this pay-per-view event. One of the most famous Survivor Series events came in 1997 due to the Montreal Screwjob.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE is again looking to do the Four Horsewomen vs. Four Horsewomen match at the Survivor Series pay-per-view event.

The match would have Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke. Duke and Shafir have been working out at the WWE Performance Center since being signed to developmental deals.
