It may only be preseason, but the Golden State Warriors are still wanting to show the rest of the NBA that they have the best starting five in the league.

The Warriors played against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday, and although they may have lost the game on the day, they still provided plenty of moments of magic.

One moment occurred during the third quarter of the game between Draymond Green and Kevin Durant.

As you can see in the video further down in this article, Green picked up a rebound in his own half of the court and kicked off a breakaway play by passing the ball almost the full court length to Durant.

KD received the ball just outside the paint, continued to enter the paint to slam the ball home in the basket to raise the Warriors fans inside Oracle Arena on Saturday to their feet.

It's these kinds of plays that has made Golden State so dominant in the NBA over the past four seasons, winning three titles in that period and two back-to-back titles in the past two seasons.

Despite the arrival of several star players in the Western Conference this offseason, the Warriors will still be the favourite to succeed and finish the season as the top seed in the conference.

Against the Timberwolves, Green finished with only two points but he also had four rebounds, eight assists, and a block in just 20 minutes of action.

Durant, on the other hand, had 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists in 20 minutes of game time.

Green and Durant have been involved in fiery exchanges with one another on the court in the past, but on this occasion, they were able to connect on a play which many Golden State fans will be hoping to see more of during the regular season.

The Warriors will be looking to get back to winning ways when they play their next preseason game on Friday night against the Sacramento Kings.

Golden State begins their title defense for the second season in a row when they play against the Oklahoma City Thunder on October 16.
