The truth behind video of Tiger Woods reacting to people saying he'll never win again

Tiger Woods gave the world a reminder of his qualities following his two-shot victory in the Tour Championship in Atlanta.

The victory was his first since he won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in 2013, and that five-year wait had led many to believe that Woods was incapable of returning to his former glory, a view that many people are now regretting.

There’s no shortage of people that believed Woods was past it, and a spoof video has now gone viral which shows Woods listening to comments made about him.

The video has Woods sat in a chair, looking down at a tablet while personalties such as Stephen A. Smith comment that “the short game is gone, his health is gone”.

It also shows Woods being referred to as a “former golfer” and contains the statement that Woods was “not ever going to win another tournament”.

The spoof video works perfectly following Woods’ victory, and it does serve as a reminder to not write off a man who, with his latest victory, won his 80th PGA Tour title, leaving him just two behind Sam Snead’s all-time record of 82.

Despite some initial confusion, it has now been confirmed that the video is indeed fake and the visuals are actually taken from a PGA Tour video in which members of the golfing world and fellow players are actually praising Woods.

You can watch the spoof and the real video below.

Complimentary comments about Woods will now be more frequent following this victory.

He went into the final day with a three-shot lead over Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose and produced a strong start to pull further into the lead.

Despite dropping shots on the 15th and 16th, Woods finished his round with a par which was enough to clinch the win.

Woods, now 42 years old, will be hoping that this long awaited victory will mark his return as a serious competitor in the major tournaments.
