Boxer who has fought both Bellew and Usyk has predicted how the fight will end

After fighting both Oleksandr Usyk and Tony Bellew, Danny Price believes it would be “a massive shock” if the latter would prove to be victorious.

Bellew is no stranger at all to being labelled as the underdog, as he was when he moved up from the cruiserweight to the heavyweight to combat his rivalry with David Haye on two occasions.

It is very much a case of déjà vu as the fighter returns back to the cruiserweight division to face the overwhelming favourite Usyk.

Price actually beat Bellew on an 8-6 points decision back in 2006, but has remained good friends with the Englishman and wants him to beat Usyk and perform yet another unlikely upset.

“It would be a huge shock to the boxing world,” admitted Price. "But I hope Bellew wins though, because I get on really well with him.”

Just two years after fighting and beating Bellew, Price fell victim to the powerful Usyk.

The stakes were much the higher, though, as Price was knocked out of the Olympic qualifiers at the hands and gloves of the Ukrainian.

It was again through a points decision that separated the two fighters; Usyk won 15-6 in the semi-final of the qualifiers to break Price’s heart.

Usyk conquered all and went all the way to eventually win that heavyweight gold at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

He hasn’t looked back since and has become the undisputed champion of cruiserweight boxing, currently holding four titles.

Price knows first hand the danger Usyk can inflict on his opponents, and has edged him to come out on top yet again.

“I think Usyk will win on points,” he continued, and suggested that the Liverpudlian can’t let the fight go all the way.

“Bellew really needs the stoppage to have a chance of winning.

“Usyk is a great fighter."

Finally, Price concluded that he is simply looking forward to watching the two fight from outside the ring.

“I’ll definitely be watching, I’m looking forward to it.”
