Tyson Fury has revealed what happened when he sparred with amateur Anthony Joshua

Tyson Fury has opened up about what happened when he last met Anthony Joshua in a ring.

The unified heavyweight world champion wasn't even a professional boxer when the two sparred together, but that hasn't stopped the 'Gypsy King' from laying a verbal blow on Joshua.

Fury fights Deontay Wilder on December 1 in Los Angeles, with the winner looking set on booking a date with Joshua next spring, and Fury is relishing his chances to go blow-for-blow with boxing's finest.

"We've had a spar before, amateur boxer he was at the time, he had a good couple of rounds, then I started hitting him round the body," Fury told Showtime.

"He was like this, lifting his legs up in the corner, there were 10 people in the gym who saw it.

"I'm there with my hands down, he’s coming forward with big swings, how’s he going to hit me? I said go on then, put one on me, I'll stand still."

Things have certainly changed since the days where Anthony Joshua was an amateur boxer.

Joshua has been keen to face Tyson Fury's next opponent Deontay Wilder for a while, and the pair have been in negotiations this year to fight, however, the two champions have been unable to agree a deal as of yet.

Instead, it was Tyson Fury that stepped in to face the American, and he will bid to win the only belt that has eluded him in his career to date.

Fury's glittering past seems a distant memory after suffering from personal problems, causing him to lose the belts he had won - most notably against Wladimir Klitschko back in 2015 when we last saw the Englishman at his best.

Should Fury defeat Wilder in December, he could be on course to face Joshua once more.

However, it would seem Wilder holds the cards in this match-up as the American can always activate the rematch clause in the contract.

Joshua is patiently waiting for the victor of this fight to step forward and face him, and however much talk there has been of the inevitable fight against Wilder, Fury's comments may make Joshua rethink who he wants next.
