Documentary catches brief conversation Froch and Joshua had after Klitschko fight

Ahead of Anthony Joshua's bout against Alexander Povetkin, Sky Sports Boxing have released a fascinating behind the scenes account of Joshua's fight against Wladimir Klitschko in 2017.

Twenty eight-year-old Joshua goes up against experienced Russian fighter Povetkin at Wembley Stadium on Saturday in a mandatory challenger fight for Joshua's WBA title.

Povetkin is coming to the end of his career at the age of 38, but will still pose a stern test to Joshua, having tasted defeat only once - in 2013 when he lost to Wladimir Klitschko via a decision after 12 rounds.

Sky Sports have now offered a glimpse behind the scenes to Joshua's own meeting with Klitschko in 2017, which saw the British fighter walk away with a TKO win and the WBA 'super' title.

Among other scenes that offer a glimpse into the world of Anthony Joshua and candid account of his own experience of what became a historic fight, the documentary captures a brilliant exchange between Joshua and former super-middleweight champion Carl Froch.

Froch was listed in 2013 as the best pound-for-pound British boxer by the BBC, and had an impressive career, picking up multiple world titles and only suffering two defeats in 35 fights.

Since his retirement in 2014, 'The Cobra' has forged a career as pundit for Sky Sports and was ringside after Joshua's bout against Klitschko to offer his assessment of the fight.

The exchange features in Sky Sports Boxing's documentary "Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko: Behind The Scenes".

AJ: "Frochy you legend!"

Froch: "Josh, you took my title, you took my £80,000 and then you do that [pointing to the ring] that was outrageous."

AJ: "[laughing] Was it alright, are you sure?"

Froch: "[Nodding makes sign for 'perfect'] Yeah"

Froch was clearly impressed by Joshua's performance in the ring, and AJ taking the time to ask Froch his opinion clearly shows a level of respect between the two.

Froch is now hoping that the Povetkin fight will provide Joshua with another stage to show just how good he is.

Writing for Sky Sports, he said: "Watching Joshua is usually exciting no matter who he's in with.

"I really hope we are going to see that again. I hope he just gets in there against Povetkin and gets back to what we all love."
